Digital signature works by encrypting the hash value of the document with the private key of the signer and the resulting encrypted hash (the signature) is merged into one file with the document and the digital certificate.
- Verifying the signer's certificate validity and integrity to the Indonesian root CA operated by Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital Republik Indonesia.
- Checking whether the certificate owner was the one signing the hash value of the document by decrypting the cipher text using the public key contained in the signer's validated digital certificate.
- Checking whether there was any change made to the content of the original document after the signing by comparing the hash value gotten from the decryption and the hash value gotten from hashing the original document.
The above 3 steps can only be done by performing the operation with the digitally signed document in PDF form, thus uploading the PDF is necessary.
The uploaded PDF document is processed temporarily for verification purposes only. The system does not store or retain the original document in any form after the verification process is completed.
Here is the audit trail of the document processing on Privy, be aware that this is not a Digital Signature Verification, and anyone might have copy pasted this QR Code from any other documents. Act on your own risk.
